Description
The 9th Imperial and Royal Hussar Regiment was founded in 1688 by Emperor and King Leopold I from the cavalry corps of Count Czobor. The regiment took part in 66 famous battles on various battlefields in Europe. Thirteen officers received the Order of Mary Theresa, and 24 hussars were awarded gold medals for valor. The history of the regiment was processed by Colonel Ignác Korda until 1903 on the basis of the available documents. The events of the years up to 1904-12 were compiled by Lt. Gen. Miklós Riedl and Count Tivadar Mirbach, Major, and thus the data on the history of the regiment were collected in their entirety.
