A new world was born in 1918-1923

The clash, which began in 1914 and swelled worldwide, blew up and destroyed the old world, paving the way for a new, more cruel era ever called the short twentieth century. The first attempts at interpretation of the Great War sprouted from the logic of the war itself and described the events as a struggle between evil and good. This interpretation still holds many followers to this day. The large-scale essay by historian Mary Schmidt is one of the first spiritual attempts to go beyond the explanations that operate with opposite pairs. It’s only been a hundred years since, so this book is a real start. Many will still refer to it.
